A freaking night out at Vasco with friends ..

today is saturday ….
zammu abruptly came to my room and told me to get ready , he told me we are going to vasco ..
i got ready soon ..

and then we left the gec hostel-2 ,off to ponda on zammu’s bike ..
all were supposed to meet at aditya’s ( adi’s ) place ..
two cars were ready , achal had brought his car , and naveen ( nonya ) too ..
so we all made a count of 9 …

we bid adeiu to adi’s parents and off we were on our way …

the first song that played in car was a beautiful one , a song by Bryan Adams..

” Let’s make a night – to remember …
From january – to december …
Let’s make love – to excite us ..
A memory – to ignite us …
soft and tender …
Let’s make sugar darlin’ – sweet surrender …
Let’s make a night – to remember – all life long ..

unsecured loans

so we left at around 10.30 pm in the night ..
achal and nonya were driving their own cars now ..

on the way we saw a truck fallen in the field , and completely upturned ..
it had been off the road track ..and i could only imagine how it could have fallen in ..
the driver and other persons in the truck were apparently unhurt , we saw them sitting near the truck .. a small crowd had gathered by now ..

we got down soon to see if any help was needed ..

we left soon ..
then one more untoward incident occured on the way ..

we would frequently hoot out loudly at and show our middle finger to the other car members ..
sometimes
our car went ahead and naveen showed a middle finger at achal ..
but wait … somthing went wrong here now ..

the car from behind stopped abruptly on our way ..
and naveen quickly stepped on brakes to stop our car from hitting the other car ..

a man came out of the car and started catching nonya’s hands and told him to come out ..
we were watching the whole thing .. we got down to tell this person that it was a mistake ..

actually there was nobody on the road as we travelled ..
also the car behind us was of same color as that of achal’s , it was same make also maruti 800 ..
and this car suddenly comes on our way ..

by now we were all out ..
we tried to pacify this person again that it was not meant for him but to our friends in achal’s car ..

we told him that the car was looking same and we could not make out in the pitch dark road that it was somebody else ..

but this fellow had lot of masti in him ..
he started to pull naveen out of the car hurling a few bad words ..
we could not withstand this scene ..

nagraj was the first to stop this person by hitting hard on his chest ..well done ..
shivdi, morey and achal were on him now ..
we pulled him back and forth ..

nagraj was so freaked up over this fellow that he went for a second gift ..
a strong kick on his ass .. wham !!!

and very much expected was a kick from achal too ..
achal would never think twice about losing this oppurtunity ..
He is the DAREDEVIL from among us ..

adi, zammu joined him ..

this fellow had so much ego that he was not giving up ..
we were nine and he was alone ..
some more bashings ..
head to foot ..
and he fell down ..

forgive me ..
i didn’t go to hit this person .. i am kinda non-violent most of the times ..
but depends on the situation that i am in ..

we were neither short of bad words nor the bangs ..
he got a good dose of both …
there he was on ground … insecure ..
such persons must be taught some more lessons ..
it was just so small mistake and he had simply exaggerated it and came to deal with us physically ..
clearly he was a fool to deal with us so harshly ..
hehehe :-)

It was nagraj’s birthday today too ..
poor fellow ..last midnight we had given him a lot of birthday bums …
so now nagraj wanted to remove all his frustration on this fellow ..

we left the finishing touches to be done by naveen …afterall he was another warrior in our caravan..take this…and another…wham ..wham !!
we all left the scene and on our way ..

Now we passed by the BITS CAMPUS ..wow so huge and beautiful it looked ..
the hostel lights were on ..and campus was well lit thru’ought ..

We all stopped near the St. Andrew’s church ..
Krishanu was waiting for us here ..

We parked our car nearby and set off to walk around ..
actually we were vary late to this place ..

all shops were almost closed for the saptah ..
it was nearing midnight ..

there was a Baskin Robbins ice-cream shop open ..
we stormed to the place ..
we had a great treat from nagraj ..

so we chose to eat gadbad ..

there were no chance for bird watching here ..
all the birds were probably in their nest .. sleeping ..

shivdi, nonya, achal, adi, morey were really visibly getting frustrated ..

we walked thru the streets and near damodar temple ..

Then we went to harbour …
oh …
this was another beautiful place to be in the night ..
the waves splashing themselves on the rocks ..and making a loud roar ..
we could see the light house ..
we hanged around for some time here ..

it clocked past midnight ..
today was Krishanu’s birthday …

we sang ” happy birthday to you .. happy birthday to you … ” for krishanu at the harbour here ..and wished him a very very

very happy birthday ..

so yesterday nagraj turned 21, today krishanu turned 21 ..
hah … they can now legally marry a girl ..

hmm .. nagraj was getting ideas by now maybe .. but we didn’t ask him …hehe ..

well vasco is surely the best place i have visited in Goa ..

passed by deepvihar school ..
many of my friends have studied here ..it’s a nice school ..

we roamed around vasco streets for some time before we stopped at the TEMPTATIONS ..a 24 hour eatery outlet ..

all of them had what they wanted to ..
i had a veg roll and ice-cream ( mango delight )
lucky me … both were sponsored by Nagraj specially for me ..
to others envy ..

na na na nana :-) ..

I met our ex-GS Pradosh Kamat, ex-BE Atul Lawande and also MR ( that’s one fellow’s pet name ) here ..

then we went to Bogmalo beach ..
it was 1.30 by now ..

i went for a small walk along the coastline ..

zameer simply followed behind to join me ..

waves were coming to greet us ..
water came on my legs … it was cool ..

others stayed away from the waves ..
it was quite a beautiful scene here ..

pitch dark place ..
moonless night ..
fierce breeze blowing our side ..
and waves making a roar and roar ..

i could see the waves glowing …
i wanted to go deep in the waters ..
but friends warned me not to wander more inside ..

give me a break friends ..
leave me alone for sometime …..

i was now walking along the coast on this moonless night …
only the roar of the waves and cool breeze to accompany my solitude …loneliness ..
 …
 …
it was as if the sea was trying to tell me something ..
and even i wanted to shout something loudly …
to match the roaring intensity of the waves ..
i am not so weak afterall ..

but i was interrupted by others ..
saala dream khatam …
how cruel people are …
” bhavnaon ko samjho …”
aarrrghh ..

time to go ..

Now we all gathered together ..then our dear birthday boy suggested we got to three kings hill ..
and we had actually planned to go there somewhere near after midnight ..

time had passed so soon with others ..
but then nothing’s ever too late ..

no doubts in the mind we all decided to visit three kings..

let me tell you what actually is associated with this three kings hill ..

this is believed to be a dangerously haunted hill ..
and the road that leads there has zero visibility ..no lights leading to this place …

this place is also believed to be a murder place ..
if i am not mistaken one of the goa’s famous doctors ..
i cant remember well but , i wonder if it’s Dr.Vernekar or so…
was murdered at this very place ..

this is a famous place where kidnapped people are kept too ..
till they are released ..

bikes and cars often …i repeat very often stop in their way ..abruptly …
they dont start .. until even after some time ..
so people decide then and there not to ever visit this fearful place again ..

also this very place is patrolled by police very often ..

but today there was nobody in sight ..

if we would have met police on our way we would have got some danda’s on our asses .. :-) ..

it’s a fact that they would have stopped us and questioned us again and again ..

we were lucky though ….

we went thru’ the main road and somewhere we saw guards sitting outside a factory ..
it was nearing 3.00 am now…

and we asked them the way to three king’s ..
they were bewildered that a bunch of guys from nowhere ..
comes to them and asks about the most feared place in vasco ..

they warned us not to even think of going there ..
but after much insisting from all nine of us ..
they told us the way ..
one guard told us to think again before going to the place…
and we did think again ..

but then it was not even seconds before we decided for sure ,that we are not missing a visit to this dreaded place ..
now after listening to this guards speaking this unheard things ..
my mind started racing ..
i somehow wanted to visit once and for all this very place now ..

so in unison we set off to this place ..
we went back again .. the same road we had come ..

on the left somewhere the path led into jungle ..
and there was no vehicle visible in sight ..

we went in with two cars ..
back to back ..
the fear factor had already started to encumber abhijeet, zameer, shivdi etc …
they were actually holding tight to each other ..

and not to mention aditya who was sitting in between abhi and zammu ..
in the other car also shivd was holding tight to nagraj ..
hmmmm …

the roads was a good one, and on some occasions we saw rabbit hopping over and running away ..

we reached the place soon ..
the gates were locked .. but nearby steps led the path to chappel ..

all gathered outside car and they held each other ..

but here i was without an iota of fear and walking straight ahead ..
into the chappel environs …
well let me tell you i am not trying to boast of myself here..
but the same truth can be justified by my friends themselves..

yes.. i went straight in …was much ahead of others …

it was pitch dark here …absolute darknesss …

i could remember Iron Maiden’s song ..
” FEAR OF THE DARK …”

i started to walk much ahead when naveen called me back and all of them were shouting at me to come back fearing something

untoward might happen to me ..

since they were making a commotion i had to backtrak on my way ..
how bad ??
these people would neither allow me to wander go in beach water …
nor wander around the beach coastline …
and now they were stopping me from walking ahead to the church too ..

i could not let the zeal of going ahead myself anytime …
i wanted to go … and i would go …

so i somehow convinced them to come ahead ..i shall lead the way ..
so one step by step looking down and aside they all came ..
but much behind me …

and then krishanu shouted that he could see a train coming ..
i needed no more reason ..

i did not think again ..i walked straight forward … much forward and others followed to see the beautiful sight of train

passing on its tracks ..

and wowww …
we could see the whole vasco city ..

a nice cool breeze was constantly unfurling my long hairs ..
going in and coming the other way out ..
and the hairs fell on my eyes ….

there i stood …right near the entrance of the church ..
it was a beautiful small church ..

i had an idea again …
this time i was not at all allowd to go ahead with my idea ..
was stopped right on my tracks …

i wanted to see if any of the doors was open to the chruch inside..
how much could i test my patience …
i wanted to go and push some door ..
but for my friends i had to decide to do away with this plan ..

This time i remembered a famous quote from the movie
THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION ….

” FEAR HOLDS YOU A PRISONER
HOPE SETS YOU FREE …”

there was no soul in sight here …
how much i was desperate to test this on myself ..
well … but all in vain …

In this semester holidays we had seen a lot of horror movies specially ..
and most of them were really horryfying in their own way ..

to name some of the absolute horror ones..
THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT …
THE OMEN …
EVIL DEAD.. MANY PARTS OF IT …
HOLLOW MAN …

etc and the list goes on ..

I wondered if anything supernatural could happen to me here …

in front of my eyes ..
in front of my friends..
on this whole dark night sky ..
in front of this place …
in this jungle ..
in this city ..
on this very moment ..

nothing happened …

after some strolling around the grassy patch pathway …
we walked back to where our cars were parked ..

soon we set off ..
and nothing worth mentioning happened till we reached ponda back ..

we reached at around 5 am in the morning

i slept at nagraj’s place …

So friends did you like reading this one ?
do write in your views and comments ..

i shall be happy to read them ..
thank you all ..

:-)

I did not have a sleep whole night ..no currents till 2.20 am ..
mosquitoes didn’t allow me to sleep and ..

when the currents came back our server backup was down …

waited hopelessly till morning 5 am ..
but nothing happened ..

then i strolled out in my terrace ..
one thing about our hostels are it’s pitch dark everywhere ..
phew …
it was like this since i started staying in the hostel ..

and then till 7 am i was reading the book HALF A LIFE by V.S Naipaul ..
till 8 am i was ready for the outing …

went to main building to find no one there ..
came back to hostel 1 to see if audi himself has got up ..
well certainly he was up ..and so were others too Rajesh, Bhartu,Joel..
and Miresh ..

I told them i shall be waiting near main building ..
so off i went now ..
i sat alone till 8.15 when Rajat , Franklin and one more fellow came ..i dont remember his name

but i know him face to face …

By this time our dear George sir also was present near ..
i greeted him Good Morning ..
and soon we got into a small discussion as we usually do often ..

Then came Abhay and Prabhav ( also my project team members …[:-)] )
so slowly students started to gather ..

my classmates boarded in from the new bus-stand ..

at 8.50 am we halted at main bus stand for breakfast ..

Then soon we were on our way to Tambdi Surla …
I have visited this place three times before this ..
but didn’t know we could also trek here ..

Bus mein halla- gulla toh tha ..

around 10.40 am we reached TAMBDI SURLA ..

We got down ..stretched ourselves to loosen up ..
and there we all were standing ..

soon Parle-G buiscuits were distributed to each one ..
hehe ..Glucose ki shakti ..

There was a stream of fresh water flowing infront .. A small bridge over the stream ..we crossed

..
and the smooth stone studded path led us to the vicinity of LORD MAHADEVA temple ..

Surrounded by grass the temple stood right at the centre ..

The temple was leaking inside from the ceiling ..since it was built of stones completely ..

There was small nandi idol in the middle too ..
but it was headless ..
the part was broken ..

It was very dark inside and I could see the LINGAM of Lord Shiva ..
two lamps were burning to spread light over the small area in the vicinity of Lingam ..

I could see some small white flowers strewn on top of Lingam ..
then the usual three white stripes on the body of Lingam ..
and flowers neatly kept around the circumference of the Lingam ..

how peaceful it was to see this view ..
i remembered one verse from a poem which i studied in my schooldays ..
it was a hindi poem ..

the verse ….

” deep shanta-tha ka pratik hai ….. “
how true …
and i echo this phrase in my mind everytime i see a soft lamp glowing near GOD …

i was more deeply moved when i saw the nandi’s head broken ..
right on top of nandi in the ceiling was eight small stars surrounded with a single big star ..
i wonder the significance of this …the pujari was nowhere in sight by now …

i also saw 12 small pillars in the small outside hall which had the nandi, with intricate small

carvings on it ..just like the olden times …

what struck me was two stone sculptures kept ,
one on the right side ..which had two snakes intertwined sculptured on it ..and
one on the left side ..which had a single snake sculptured on it …
well i was craving for an answer to this one too ..
but who should tell me …i was helpless .. left to figure out myself …

the story behind the temple also is more amazing .. it had survived amidst ravages and is

preserved intact under the Monuments Act 1958, with a fine of Rs,5000/- to whoever does any damage to this heritage site …

Templw was surrounded with huge trees, just opposite the entrance was a series of small steps

leading to the free flowing stream …

We walked out the same way we came in ..
while we were walking out ,the pujari was sweeping the leaves out from the way ..
then we took another route to the right into the jungle …
it begins now …
i thought …. what we had actually come here for … a long trek ..
as i walked into the greenery .. on a nearby hill i saw mist surrounding it ..
and as we distanced further I saw a beautiful waterfall , making it’s way down ..

It split somewhere near the middle ..and this added to the existing beauty of the fall ..
As we went deep into ..
by now the students had started shouting ” JANGAL MEIN MANGAL ” .. hehehe .. :-)

We had a little walk ahead and then encountered a small stream of water ..it was the same stream

of water i guess and we were just walking thru’ it ..

As we forayed into deep pockets of jungle , frequent blasts of chilly, moist breeze welcomed us ..
it was a refreshing feeling too ..

We could hear the sound of water flowing …
then came another big crossing thru the stream …
this time it was time for some masti ..
and we all were waiting to splash handfull of water on each other ..
and it was not long before everybody was wet from top to bottom ..

those who were not ready to come in and were waiting aside ,thinking that they could be dry, were

wrong in their thinking ..they were dragged into and made wet ..
well ahem …
it included me too ..hehe .. :-) time for a snap ..
click …
click …

another stream crossing ..

One warning we had been given was there could be every possibility that leeches would climb on us

and have a feast on our body ..sucking blood …and when it sucks blood we cannot feel anything

..that’s the most dangerous part ..

We encountered stream for the fourth time now ..
One thing i noticed was that there was abundant twigs and logs of wood strewn across the jungle

..
fifth crossing …

chalte gaye ..chalte gaye …

we were crossing for the sixth time now ..this current was stronger ..

little ahead and we encounter the seventh crossing ..
We were guided by arrows painted on trees and occasionally on stones ..
but was visible thru’out the way was the thick mat of grass and also huge trees along both sides

of the way ..

Well , i know you all might not be interested to know this, but then came the eight crossing now

.. it was fun to cross the stream of water now ..again and again ..hehe ..

The whole valley echoed with the constant sound of flowing water makiing its way over and aside

the stones …

On the way ,my classmate Pavan slipped over a stone and regained balance ..
By now , all students who had come to trek with me ,knew i was jotting down the small small

experiences we had here ..

So my classmates enthusiastically screamed at me and told me to write this incident in my blog too

..i said why not ?? :-) ..

For some more time we all were just treading the path along side the stream …
Ocaasionally I would look at the stream and awe in wonder, the vigorous flow with which it was

flowing …

I remembered Lucky Ali’s soul tapping song at that moment ..

” Behti nadi ka rukh ,kal yahaan, kal wahaan ,kya pata kya pata ..
kyun chal diya karke yun bekarar ,ye dil ab mera manenaaaaaaa ..
kisssi bhi bahane tum tak aate the ,
tumhe ye batane ki kitna chahte the,
aisse baat thi,
(flute)
samajhe nahi to hum samjhate the,
keh jaate the aankh churate the ,
aissi baat thi,

raat bhar soye nahi,
hai sawaal ye,
jaage reh gaye hum to,
tere khayal mein,

humsa deewana tumne dekha hai kahin,
gumsum rehke teri saari baatein sahin,
dil mein basi hai bas teri tasveer,
mujhe kya pata kya hai meri takdeer,
ki mein rahoon paas tere roobaroo,

raahoon mein kabhi tum humko mil jaate ,
hoth kabhi bhi shayad sil jaate,
aisse baat thi…
(flute)

jab se tere hum havaale hue raasta najar aane laga,
pyare jo vafaa hum tumse karte hein,
pyare aisa lagta hai hum darte hein,

dil ne nahi jo kaha tha kabhi
vakth kehne laga ab jaraaaaa …..

pyar ka tarana hai ye suno to jaraa
tej raftaar hai kya
thehro to jaraa
aisa naseeba hum dil waaloon ka hai ye
mil ke na mil payein kya fasala hai ye
sacchi vafaoon ka shayd sila hai ye
paaye ye phir bhi tujhko hosla hai ye …………

At this very moment Akshar pointed me to a huge boulder on the path of the stream water on which

there was a bunch of wild purple flowers …they were so fresh …

Now the slope was getting steeper and steeper , and the verve of reaching at the place where the

falls was present made us more enthusiastic ..
we could hear the gushing of water now ..
loud ..loud..louder …

and there we were..
i could see water falling from a considerable height.. well water droplets filled the entire area

..
wind was splitting the water falling into small droplets ..
asa result of which we could feel slight drizzle on us when we stood nearby ..

it was absolute beauty ,to watch the water in its milky color making its way down to the ground..
and then turning colorless … :-)

Never in my life ,had i been so closer near the waterfall ..
the splash of water from such a height onto the boulders made a roar…
our screams were overpowered by this source of sound …

There is some term which is used to indicate low power signal overpowered by a high powered signal ..

I am not getting the term exactly .. is it called ” Masking “?
Maybe some ETC students could verify that for me…

I positioned myself to see the tip of the waterfall ..from where water made its way down ..
it was another beauty for the eyes ..

Well all this time, I was still in hold of this captivating beauty , in front of me …
and by now , I could hear some hooplah made by students who were already having a merry time in

the water …

What was I waiting for then ??
It’s my time folks … here I go …
splash ..
splash ..
splash ..

ahh ..cold water ..

I saw George sir with child like enthusiasm playing in the water and splashing water over others

..
One thing I certainly am observing since my earlier treks with him ..

I went a little ahead ..
then a little more ..

and in few moments i reached a place nearest than anyone was ..
straight near the place where huge voluminous amount of water was hitting down ..
I couldn’t see anything at all ..

yohooooooo .. :-)

i made it ..

yipeeeee .. :-)

i reached absolutely near the place ..

by now ex-BE Ranjan and our dear George sir were calling me back ..a few steps behind ..

but the zeal to witness the fall from as near as possible , did not make me move from the place..
I wanted to challenge the defenses of the my body ..

I could see absolutely nothing … so much droplets were falling straight into our eyes ..
also they were huge droplets ..
i had to keep a hand on my ears too .. it was hitting on the ears hard ..

other side i could see myresh and his other friends audi, joel, rajesh etc …they were just as far

as i was but I was deep in ..

Such a huge volume of water fell with great ferocity … that i could see absolute huge ripples

formed .. and in turn this ripples came to greet us with great velocity …
it was as if someone was patting hardly on my legs …

Sometime later Arun came near me to the right and we were talking about how amazing it was ,and

how much fun it was to be here ..

After an hour or so I, was signalled by George sir to come out now …
It was time for lunch ..

After lunch we departed this place ..

I had a last look at the whole extravaganza nature had exhibited here ..
and back we treaded along the same path we had come here ..

Frequently i could see bamboo shoots on the way ..quite long ones..
It was 2.10 when we left from here ..
the walkdown was not so problematic now..
all the places and stream crossings that we came across earlier while climbing were visible one

more time now …

thankx to Rajat, Manguirish from mech who came along me ,we had some nice time too ..

On the way our friend lost one pair of his chappals.. strange it might seem but he had lost it ..
hehehe ..
we had a nice laugh when we heard that ..
and who should this person be ??
It’s ABHAY BHAT :-)

By 3.20 we walked down the hill, and were near the bus..

In the bus Krishanu ,realised there was a leech on his leg, and it had become so fat …god ..
we had some fun in the bus while our way back ..
I was a bit tired and set off to thinking some other things ..

In the night I saw some blood clot on my leg …it had become dry ….only to realise that i too had been a victim to a leech ..why it had to me,

also in the night i had been a feast to mosquitos .. i already have so little blood left in me ..[:-(]

Arun was victim three times to leeches ..
he has enough blood in him ..builder hai …so no probs…hehehe :-)

Readers, I tell you ,you wouldn’t want to miss such a splendour ..
it’s good to hear today that ETC students have finalised to go for a picnic to the same place

TAMBDI SURLA on thursday..
Trust me you wont regret visiting this place friends…

How i wish my friends nags, abhi, zameer, achal, vicky were here too to enjoy ..

Finally a big thankx to George sir who arranged college bus for us, having spent some moments of

fun with us ….

It shall be the one of the unforgettable moments of my life ..
the times i spent here with my friends and specially my dear George Sir …

Folks out there ..

hold your breath ..

i know you all may have got your eyes upon images ..:) ..

I am just listening to CREED’s song ONE LAST BREATH ..

“Hold me now …
I’m six feet from the edge and I’m thinking ..
That maybe six feet …
Ain’t so far down …”

Yes , I was just moved enough to make my eyes wonder over this beauty here ..

This is MELISSA THEURIAU ..a french news reader ..and undoubtedly the highest paid french news reader ..for a news channel 24*7 ..LCI ..

look at the logo underneath the pics ..

This woman for sure must have the fashion designers go crazy ..

as for now the top brass fashion designers must be seriously contemplating signing her up for modelling …

and why not ? with this kind of charm …

she sure must make the cash registers of advertisers and brand makers ringing ..

and yes i can here it …. LOOOOOUUDDD …

film-makers must be having their own plans too ..

but that’s not for us to worry ..as long as we get to see this baby ..

Lets’ see how she takes on the global scene now ..

Are you all still reading this are you all gone like me ???

I was reading ASEEM’s blog ,when I saw her ..

as soon as my eyes fell on the photos ..

well I just needed the name and then i was off to google out more images of her ..

and here I amwriting for you all ..

Well another FRENCH beauty who has enthralled me is ( guess ? )

ALIZEE … :)

strange …

And I was just reading Asterix and Obelix ..

comic characters ..cartoons ..again french culture ..

SO READY TO GO TO FRANCE THEN ???

I’M ….

I am now searching for THE FRENCH CONNECTION ….

All of us have heard the commotion that one act in making ..

the act that promises to come out clean to curb the corruption and help the citizens of the largest democracy in the world — INDIA ..

the act that has already brought down astonishing views that was once thought impossible ..

the act that empowers you and respects whatever you are ..

the act that shall bring down culptrits in all the major government deals and make them transparent …

Friends ,I am talking about none other than this altogether important act ..

THE RIGHT TO INFORMATION ACT (RTI)..

You may have read many instances where this act has been used for good ..real good ..

and I as a student want other fellow students to know what’s in store for them in using this act ..

So literally how does this act empower students like you and me ? Read on ..

You can get access to norms and facilities that are setup by the school and college authorities according to this act.
Any discrepancy or failure to provide this facilities required for the proper functioning of the related course or service can be questioned by students ..

yes ….you have power to question those top people whom you couldn’t meet or you would have to book an appoinment which never came your way ..

Let me tell my fellow IT students who are in the same trouble as i am ..

” With the kind of fees that we are paying every sem/year that’s Rs.18000 as the full fees while others just pay Rs.6000 as the full fees ..”

You see we do get the same facilities and faculty as other branches do …
nothing is special ….
government is raking in money from us to set up labs and infrastructure ..

I can see that since five years that the IT course have been implemented in GEC ..nothing ..absolutely nothing has been done .

So our parents hard earned money ( I cannot deny this atleast from my part ) ..
is going somewhere else ..
and the interest from huge amount of money collected ..
oh my God ..we are factually being cheated …

So students this is not a one man army , it’s your own right to come forward to this cause ..

And i feel this will help us only ..maybe we can challenge to collect our money back ..

seriously every student needs to form the backbone ..

One deters from this cause ,then some more leave ,and this shall continue in the ripple effect ..

Think for yourself …

And one more important thing too ..
this one’s very much a real concern for us ..

Let me tell about this PAPER TRIAL …

So you thought you deserved more in the exams when you wrote well and are confidant of scoring more ?

You can actually demand to see your answer sheet and see how you were assessed.

Very often I have seen it for myself and my friends too …
we give our papers for re-evaluation & are never sure they were actually evaluated again…

You can see the differnce when all of us come one ..

It’s not simply that the film RANG DE BASANTI has been made ..
it was made keeping in mind the power ……..youth of the nation has ..

As I write this , I remember a song by POD ..

” we are ..we are the youth of the nation ..”

If you must know this ..
RANG DE BASANTI is being filmed in American Universities with tie-ups with the respective Universities ..

Why do you think Americans would have allowed to do this when they are a more bolder genre of people ?

The message that this movie had is Universal to any nation’s Youth …

No harm to Indians ..but a fact is a fact …it must be accepted gracefully and acted upon to improve ourselves in every field ..

So what say my friends ??
I am eagerly awaiting to what you all want to say ..

do comment in here …

and did I hear anyone supporting me ??

Let it be heard …..

Anyone knows the second richest person on earth?

Undoubtedly after Mr.Gates ..

It’s Warren Edward Buffett ..

An American investor, businessman and philanthropist ..

he is nicknamed ” Oracle of Omaha ” .

His estimated current net worth is around $ 42 US billion. His company’s name is Berkshire Hathaway.

I wanted to write what he has committed himself to ..

He has decided to donate 85% of his personal wealth, around $ 38 US billion, to Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, a landmark event in the history of philanthropy ..

If i say from an economist point of view , to out his out in figure prespective , then it is roughly one-third of India’s forex reserves ..

And with Mr.Gates he is clearly aiming big, wants to wipe out 20 of the world’s deadliest diseases.A good visionary as i see ..

Gates has recently said he shall also resign as the Chairman of Microsoft and get into Philanthropy ..

I see this as the best of capitalism … what say ??

I remember reading about Rockefeller Foundation, which in the last century, carried out pioneering research on diseases.

Also it’s support to agricultural reasearch brought about the GREEN REVOLUTION

Also it’s interesting to know about this great man Warren ..read on ..

Despite his immense wealth, Buffett is famous for his simple lifestyle. He continues to live in the same house in Omaha he bought in 1958 ( yes it’s almost nearing fifty years you see ) for $31,500, although he also owns a summer house in Laguna Beach, California. His annual salary from Berkshire Hathaway of $100,000 is nominal by the standards of senior executive remuneration in the United States.

How many of you would have chosen a lifestyle like him ? Given that you are the second richest man on this earth ..

It’s difficult you see …

HK.I got up today at 7.00 am.As i was brushing ,i went to the terrace outside to feel the morning breeze …
It was not sunny by now but dark clouds hovered in the sky and blocked the sunrays. It would rain anytime now i thought ..

I stepped in my room, and it started raining outside. There was no rains since many days , and had it to rain,
of all days today itself ?I was just hoping that our plans were not being interfered upon. And it rained ….

I sat on my bed, thinking that rain would atleast slow down by 9.30 as we had planned to depart on our outing today.
Yesterday my friends, had planned to go out for fun today ..as tommorow our college would reopen and hence our final year
classes were supposed to begin.

So by 9.00 , I was ready to get out of my room, it was still raining.Rain stopped sometime later and i walked to our main gate for a lift down to ponda. No vehicle in sight , had to walk down to the circle then got a lift to ponda.
Went to Morey’s home.So we sat there and had a chat while his mother prepared breakfast for us.Slowly one by one, some of my friends started giving excuses for not being able to come today. There were 7-8 bikes arraned just yesterday so around 16 of them, and it would really have been a great fun, with the whole bunch.

` Finally only six were left out who were ready.Yesterday we had planned to visit Cabo-de-rama , it’s a fort but then today we decided to go somewhere else. I opted for Colva for a special reason, but was turned down by each one of them.Phew !!!

Then at some moment we decided not to go out at all, and started cursing each one who had left at the last moment.
Man I seriously needed a change , today, stay at hostel was boring the whole holidays.Nobody in our hostel too, all batchmates had left for their homes. So we four of them came to back zope, to decide which location we would be going.

Morey had an idea, why not go to chorla ghat, and there were small water streams too wherein we could have bath and as i said it was raining today. After much maka-naka from others, finally we rest gave in to his idea.

After half an hour abhi got a call from achal , asking where were we. We at first said to him , we were on way to calangute and were at present in Old-Goa.We knew he would curse us, and the same happened. So abhi told we were lazing in the back-zope.Then came achal in his bike, with shivd, who had given an excuse for not coming earlier.

Here we were now six of them, achal came and said, ” arey vitlo re haav, saamke third class manis re tumhi sagle “.
And we accepted it gracefully.”Arey baaki sagle zov bayek re… aamhi ya re , aaj yaach re .. “, he instilled some masti in us, and we suddenly were sure of going to chorla ghat.It went on till 1.00 pm in the afternoon, and damned us, we still were deciding where to go …

Final word from all, and all said ” yaa re chorla ghat “. So we decided to meet at around 2.pm at the ponda bus-stand after lunch. We seperated out here.I went to hotel Abhimaan with Zameer on his bike for lunch. We recd a call from achal that there is a ferry at 2.20 and we had to catch it. By 1.50 we were ready but then Nagraj had some work and he opted not to come.

So, last moment there were eight of us ready. Abhi, Zameer, Chetan( Mr.Bouncer ), Rishi, Rahul, Shivd, Achal and myself, four bikes in all.We couldn’t make it to the 2.20 ferry as even by 2.pm we waited for all the eight to gather.Achal was in his usual best, was cursing all of us, ” kya re ek plan banaya do baje nikalne aur saale sabhi ko time ka kadar hi nahi na re , kal yeh log kya karenge re …shee third class log re ye ” .

We left slowly as to catch the next ferry at 3.30.So riding on our bikes , off we were finally ..
On the way sabko gaaliyaan dete hue, sabka majaak karte hue, we reached the ferry point ten minutes earlier.Atleast ek kaam ke liye toh hum jaldi pahunche aaj.

SANCOALE “, was the name of the ferry.Let me tell you something, this was the first time i was travelling in a ferry. And had a different feeling inside. We could see the steel plant of Sesa Goa at Amona from here.

Reached the other side soon, and we were on our way …

We stopped to visit the Anjuna dam, it is 42 metres high and 171 metres in length ..

We were passing thru’ sacalim , after half an hour or so , road had more turns and turns , so we knew we were now nearing the ghats. In a few moments we were in the blanket of lush green trees surrounding us , with water-laden black clouds hovering above in the sky.

The greenery was capturing our thoughts … i could remember the scenes of movie Roja & song Roja jaaneman…
The mist surrounded whole place, we could see clouds smearing itself on the hills. It was enchanting and serene atmosphere here ..

Birds made themselves felt with their chirping sweet melodies.Breeze was cold and moist.I could feel strange kind of joy as we passed through beautiful dense forests and to add to all the beauty we were watching upon, it was drizzling slowly … ohhhh .. wonderfull ..perfect i thought …now i didn’t curse the rains as i had done morning .hehe ..
And God, how exciting it would be to visit the Amazon rainforests then …greenery n greenery n greenery …beauty ..

Occasionally when we found a breath-taking spot we stood there for a photo, Mr abhi a photo please ….
One of my friend who had digicam with him didn’t come with us and stayed at home instead …damn ..

Anyways you all wait for the pics …it shall be scanned and uploaded in some time…Mr Nagraj our readers are awaiting …
There were not much visitors to the ghats , it was sunday too , and we had a fair idea where people would go to if they are not here ..definitely to ambolim ..
we are planning a trip to ambolim this weekend too ..
let’s see this time we need numbers ..

We saw a stream of water falling down on the rocks , some people were already having fun here ,decided to come here while on our way back …
So we went on till we were somewhere 60 kms near Belgaum …stopped at a spot to have a snap …all smiles :-) zameer aur main …dono cogni team saath mein they ..
It was 6.00 pm then. We sat to have a chat , started pulling each other’s legs ..
It started to become dark now , partly because of the rain bearing clouds …and we started our bikes and back on our way ….

Stopped at the spot ,the stream of water we had seen earlier ..
I removed my shirt and went on to stand under the falling stream of water ..

The moment i was right down the stream, i felt a cold water gushing and falling on me ..
It was as if someone was patting me on my back heavily ..
Brrrrr … it was cold in here ..
the rishi came removing his shirt , and mr bouncer(chetan) joined us too ..
so we three were ready for a snap ….

click …
i am really awaiting to see this snap of mine …

I felt my whole body go numb now ..i was losing my feel of touch in the legs ..there was a pool of water beneath where i was standing …and our skin too had a sort of glow …

After sometime came out from beneath the fall .., brrrr ..shivering …
After some more hooplah here , i put on my shirt and we started back again down the slopes on our bikes …

We were racing fast on our way back, all were hungry too ..
All decided to have snack at hotel Sainath at Tisk, i took my dinner parcel …here too achal was at his best ..
Eating out from others plates infact we also joined in ..
only i hadn’t ordered anything to eat …and others were cursing me ..hahah ..and i had a relishing snack from others ..
thoda thoda re …

Achal’s order came at last, rava butter masala dosa ..so crisp and thin ..
and we were just waiting for this moment ..all jumped in to have their share ..
poor achal he had to be content with what little was left ..but dosa was very tasty ..

Achal then dropped me in the bus stand just in time to catch my bus ..bus had already left but stopped it ..driver knew i was here ..and stopped abruptly ..climbed on to see all wondering where have i been to …i was completely wet ..
All others had a jacket or raincoat , i alone didn’t ..
superman hoon na ..

Reached room and fell straight on bed , tired from the outing ..
Well i could recollect our trip ..

The exuberence that nature provided us to see ..it was an exhilerating trip …was happy and sad too at this moment ..happy because we had such a wonderful time together ..
sad because i couldn’t make it to colva today ..

Anywayz , we wouldn’t probably have much enjoyed if we were at colva ..
Thankx rahul, abhi, zameer, rishi , bouncer, shivd(motu), and well how can i forget this insomniac person ..ACHAL …
for such a nice time with you all ..

Hopefully next outing will be right in time ..
